The New Mexico Partnership is moving its headquarters from downtown Albuquerque to the Metro Center in the Uptown area of the city.
The move, set to take place Jan. 16, follows several years of the Partnership being located downtown ? on Gold Avenue and most recently in the Sunshine Building.
The New Mexico Partnership is a private, nonprofit organization formed in 2003 as an arm of the state?s Economic Development Department to market the state to companies throughout the U.S.
The new location is at 1720 Louisiana Blvd. NE Suite 312. Other tenants in the building include the southwest sales operations of information technology company Presidio and law firm Will Ferguson & Associates.
Allison Smith, vice president of marketing for New Mexico Partnership, said the organization looked for new space because it was squeezed in its 600 square feet in the Sunshine Building.
?There is so much happening in Uptown, we felt is was a good match to show prospective companies all that was happening in this part of the state,? she said. ?And we have a great view of the mountains.?
The 2,200-square-foot space will house five employees.
A three-year lease was signed through Jason Lott of Rosemont Properties at a reduced rate, Smith said, declining to give further details of terms.
Smith added that both Rosemont and the Public Service Co. of New Mexico donated office furniture to help fill the larger space.
